Zunehmender Beliebtheit erfreut sich der Kauf eines Baums mit Wurzeln in einem Ballen Muttererde, der nach den Feiertagen im eigenen Garten wieder eingepflanzt werden kann. Dieses „Christbaum-Recycling” ist aber leider ökologisch nicht unverdächtig ( Umweltschutz). Die einzigen Christbäume, die niemals nadeln, sind synthetische aus Kunststoff - mittlerweile täuschend echt im Aussehen, aber auch vollkommen geruch- und somit stillos ( Duft, Weihnachtsstimmung).
